Believing instead of being discouraged

Romans 5:3-5
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and peseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of GOd has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Tribulation comes in many forms.... however God has a remedy... our faith... our trust in Him and hope in His promise will encourage us... Dun look at the circumstance... lift it up to God... look at His promises... the promise gives hope and hope never disappoint... sometimes we depend on circumstance instead of looking at the promise... but circumstance will kill our faith at times...

Romans 4:14
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect.

Quit looking at the circumstances... how how much u lack behind.. and how others seemed to have it all together.... God wants us to look at His promises... and believe in it you must... or discouragement will set in........ Lets believe at the promise together and not look at ourselves... at others..... or how much we seemed to lack... all these voids our faith........ lets look at the promise and believe together... and Hope will never disappoint... becos of God's love.... the promise to all of us who believe in Jesus... that we become children of Abraham and the promise to Abraham is to us... refer to Galatians.... believe in the promises...

Genesis 12:1-3
Now the Lord had said to Abram,:
"Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in your all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

Narrow Path

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Narrow path is neither the way of legalism not the way of lawlessness.... legalism is basing our right standing with GOd based on activities rather then Jesus Himself... in other words following additional rules, activities, man-made traditions above God's Word and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 7:22
"Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?"

Works righteousness is aform of legalism... belongs also to the broad path... works righteousness means going back to system of rules that God did not demand to base our standing before GOd.. this is also known as own righteousness or self righteousness Legalism is also an outlet of the flesh...

Mark 7:8a
For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men.

Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

Legalism would cause christians to fall from grace... in other words from falling from a position of favor and blessing in Jesus....

Galatians 5:4
You have become estrangled from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by the law; you have fallen from grace.

Legalism is also an outlet for the flesh... Jesus rebuked the pharisees for praying to put up a show... for pretense and hypocrisy to have glory from man...

Galatians 6:12
As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

So we see examples that being legalistic or doing additional things in the name of GOd is not God's Will...

Galatians 6:13
For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

We see legalism and lawlessness combined in the pharisees...

Legalism is not the way of narrow path.... neither is lawlessness... Lawlessness is abusing God's grace to gratify one's fleshly pleasure.... many forms of lawlessness... one can be legalistic and even lawless at the same time.... the pharisees were legalistic and lawless in their hearts...

Matthew 7: 23
And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

Matthew 23:28
Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Lawlessness is also using liberty for the flesh... so wats the narrow way?

Narrow way is following Jesus... Jesus said not to go back to legalism... also not to use liberty for the flesh... the narrow way is also the life of liberty... and freedom... not freedom to sin... but freedom from legalism... freedom to follow Jesus and Holy Spirit...

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do nto be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Narrow way is also where we find His yoke which is easy... and His burden light.... Matthew 7 says that the narrow way is difficult which leads to life means there will be persecution and trials... Jesus was persecuted by religion in His days... we will be persecuted by legalistic people of our day... Jesus was loved by many sinners but He din compromised with them.... we will see that in the narrow way too.... there will be sufferings... but there will be a yoke that is easy.. and a burden that is light... Legalism unsettles the believers heart.... the gospel liberates and sets free... thats the reason Paul was persecuted.... by the Jews... by the religious people... cos Paul preach to set them free... not freedom to sin... freedom from legalism.... Legalism unsettles ur heart... making demands that GOd didnt make...

Acts 15:24
Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying "You must be circumcised and keep the law" - to whom we gave no such commandment.

I want encourage all believers to walk the narrow path.. follow Jesus... however never go to legalism... since legalism sounds hard and cold and makes it similar to carrying the cross... following legalism is never the same as picking your cross and following Jesus... that was what Jesus and Paul was against.... Following Jesus has sufferings and persecution... that is carrying the cross... carrying the cross has obedience to Jesus... not legalism... its very close... we must differentiate... cos God has given us a sound mind and not spirit of fear to know wat it meant by carrying the cross.... legalism is not carrying the cross and following Jesus and walking the narrow path.... neither is lawlessness... narrow path is following Jesus... His yoke is easy... His burden is light... even in the midst of persecution and sufferings... we still enjoy liberty and freedom in the Spirit.. and we rejoice in the midst of it.... Hallelujah!

So after we have been saved by grace thru faith in Jesus... we have peace with GOd... and we follow the peace of God on a daily basis... this is the narrow path... in the narrow path there is peace... righteousness... joy... when we believe by faith in Jesus... we enter the narrow path.. and we keep believing in Jesus and following Him.. and praying to Him for directions and He will guide us daily.... and there will be sufferings... there sill be hope deferred... there will be persecution... but the yoke is easy... the burden is light.... when you sin in the narrow path... quickly repent and ask for forgiveness and receive GOD's mercy... and continue walking in the narrow path by believing in Jesus and following Him... remember... salvation is a gift by grace... we cant earn it... only can receive by believing in Jesus... so after that... we walk in narrow path by following Him thru Holy Spirit... and keep believing in hope for God's promises.... and Jesus will come back for His church....

Revelation 7:9-10
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, af all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, sayng, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.

Planning in the Will of God

Proverbs 21:5
The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.

Planning is impt... God requires us to plan... but it is even better to plan in accordance to His Will...

Proverbs 21:2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.

In our planning we must try to discern the Will of God... of course God is a God of freedom.. He prospers the things we do... so many a time... when we move... God moves and prospers the works of our hands.... however in planning and getting into our plans... sometimes we go too fast that we leave God out of the picture... there are times we need to slow down.... to discern God's direction and then plan according to it... God is never a crasy Father who is regimental... and hard to get along with... so He gives us alot of liberty to plan as we flow with Him....

Proverbs 19:21
There are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the Lord's counsel- that will stand.

Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

So ultimately... do we plan first or do we wait to hear God then plan? well, God does require us to be sensitive to His leading... but someone once said... keep moving till God says change direction... i believe being in the balance and following Jesus is the best... ultimately its a relationship with the Holy Spirit... Its situational... there are times God wants us to wait then plan... there are times God wants us to plan and He directs... Its a relationship... the peace of God is always in you... learn to follow it... pray about every decision before making them... ask God for peace... the more impt the decision... the longer time you need to wait for God.... the less impt ones... God gives you freedom to choose... and leads you in peace... always remember God is not hard to get along with... He is a good God.. He loves you...

Romans 1:10
making request if, by some means, now at last I may find a way in the will of God to come to you.

Paul was active in planning in the Will of GOd... so thats wat we should do in our planning... and we are His children after believing in Jesus... we are born into His Will... its that simple... and He leaves His peace to guide us daily... His Holy Spirit dwells in us to help us.. The Comforter...

You are talented in your own unique way...

Romans 12:3-6a
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.

When we become christians... God gives us grace to serve Him.... in other words.. God gives the grace or the giftings in your life to serve Him... You have a impt part to play in the kingdom... in this world we live in..... wat do you enjoy doing? what are u incline to do without supervision... wats the desire fo your heart? wat makes u happy and upset? usually all these... accompanied by the the grace giftings of your life would lead you to your destiny in Christ... there is God's grace on you in a unique way...

Galatians 2:9
and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Your grace from God or giftings to serve Him is usually evident by those around you.... follow that grace... the gifting of God in your life... and use it to serve Him.... if grace has been given to you to be a homemaker... follow that grace.... if grace is given to be a sales person... so be it... if grace has been given to be a road sweeper... praise God... God doesnt despise the common people...in fact no one is common in His eyes.. .we are all special to Him... In heaven our good works will be rewarded equally... if your grace is to be a politician... be a good politician to serve the people.... if the grace is to be a pastor... serve the people and teach them how to live practical everyday life... if the grace is to be a secretary... praise God for that gift to organise.... God always loves it when we are in the grace giftings serving Him....

Hearing God's voice

1 Samuel 3:1
Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.

Samuel ministered before God.... this is a picture for all of us christians because of the new covenant... all of us have been given the right to relate and minister before our God.... thank God for Jesus... In verse 19, we read that Samuel grw up and that the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. All israel recognized that Samuel was a prophet of God... so in this new covenant we live in... we can all prophesy... and the story of Samuel relates to us... praise the Lord! we can learn the relation and trained sensitivity to hear God's voice... juz like Samuel we will stumble and not able to discern correctly... but thats ok.. .whats impt is we keep trying to discern the voice of God becos God loves speaking to us on a daily basis... Samuel couldnt recognise God's voice in the beginning... but slowly he developed a trained sensitivity to His voice... thats what you and I should desire... an intimacy with God that we distinctively know wat is God saying... of course... we also learn that God's voice is a still small voice at times... in other word... He speaks by giving an impression... a desire... a thot... thru circumstance... thru people...

Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.

God also speaks by bearing witness in our spirit... by the peace of God.... as we grow in our spiritual walk... our sensitivity must be sharper and more accurate... we musnt end up like Eli who grew dim... which means the older he gets the more insensitive he is toward God's voice... in every situation try to discern the voice of God... allow trust in His love and do not be afraid that you are always not close to God... He understands what you go thru and He loves you and doesnt condemn you... never feel condemn...esp when u feel far from God... bible says... He is with you and loves you... and you can learn to discern His voice and like a loving Father... He is patient and kind to you...

good works and dead works....part 2

Galatians 3:3
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

In the previous blog... we learn that good works are very impt.... good works are works created by God for ourselves so that we can find meaning and fulfillment by doing those good works... so wat is a dead work? A dead work can be defined as work that produce no meaning and no satisfaction and work that God didnt intend us to do to bring His Will to pass... a very good example would be Abraham and Sarah.... Abraham was promised a child... however in that process of waiting on God... Abraham had to do wats natural and good... which is to sleep with Sarah and wait on God.... that is right and good in God's eyes... But Abraham was not patient enough and got into dead works or works of the flesh... Abraham slept with his maid Hagar and produce the result of the flesh... you have to judge all your activites and work in the light of God's Word and you can determine... wat activities are GOd's Will and wat are not... not every activities are His good work.... another example is Mary and Martha... Martha was busy serving but she missed the good part which Mary choose.... which is to be with Jesus.... later on we see Mary serving Jesus by anointing Him at His burial and being with Jesus when He risen the cross.. Mary did the right thing at the right time....

Luke 10:40-42
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."

My personal advice to is judge all activites in light of God's Word and discern with the peace of God which works are His works for you... ultimately you want to live for Him.. and He has a good work for you to do... we are able to go heaven becos of Jesus perfect sacrifice... however our rewards differ... if we live entire life doing dead works... the reward will not be as great as doing the good works He created us to do...

good works and dead works....part 1

2 Thessalonians 3:10-11
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

1 Thessalonians 4:11
that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we have commanded you.

We are created to do good works for the glory of our God.... Bible says if a man doesnt want to work... He is not entitled to eat... wat a statement... however in working... we must know that God is involve in our work... We can lean and pray and trust Him to direct us... He will help us... Bible says we are created in Christ Jesus for good works... Wat is ur passion today? follow that gift and passion within you and do the good works that God wants you to do...

Acts 20:34-35a
Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me. I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak.

So in conclusion...... good works are works that God want us to do that bring Him glory... and with no working to contribute to mankind... God says neither shall that lazy man eat.... Follow your gifting and passion and excel in the area God has created you to excel... For he who excels in his work will stand before kings.. He will not stand before unknown man...

Let not your heart be troubled

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus gave us His peace... we have it in our heart and spirit... why is it that many christians are still stressed out and worried and fearful? the truth is... Jesus has already given us His peace... its in us... however... we must make a decision to not let our hearts be troubled.... we must constantly remind ourselves in the midst of trouble to let not our hearts be troubled... and we abide in that peace.... Bible also says to cast our cares... for He cares for us... so we pray and release all our burden to Him and request to Him... after that we must let not our heart be troubled... we musnt allow worry to rule.. we must say no to worry... our only responsibility is not to take care of the turmoil... that is God's part... our duty is to let not our heart be troubled... His peace is with you... never let your heart be troubled amen? :) peace be with you...

Heir of the world

Romans 4:13
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Being an heir of the world means receiving great inheritance of the world... Juz look at Abraham... the blessings of God that is bestowed on Him... Abraham was richly blessed.... in fact he was so rich that the philistines got jealous of him.... his decendants... isaac... jacob... joseph.... all are as blessed as him.... the truth of the matter is .... we are Abraham's seed... and the same blessing of being an heir of the world is upon us... You are like Abraham... righteous by faith... are being blessed liek Abraham... now as you sow.. you will reap 100fold like Abraham... its all by faith.. you receive the promise of being an heir of the world... keep believing.... and trusting GOd... for the right time will come.... keep on being in faith.
