Hearing God's voice

1 Samuel 3:1
Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.

Samuel ministered before God.... this is a picture for all of us christians because of the new covenant... all of us have been given the right to relate and minister before our God.... thank God for Jesus... In verse 19, we read that Samuel grw up and that the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. All israel recognized that Samuel was a prophet of God... so in this new covenant we live in... we can all prophesy... and the story of Samuel relates to us... praise the Lord! we can learn the relation and trained sensitivity to hear God's voice... juz like Samuel we will stumble and not able to discern correctly... but thats ok.. .whats impt is we keep trying to discern the voice of God becos God loves speaking to us on a daily basis... Samuel couldnt recognise God's voice in the beginning... but slowly he developed a trained sensitivity to His voice... thats what you and I should desire... an intimacy with God that we distinctively know wat is God saying... of course... we also learn that God's voice is a still small voice at times... in other word... He speaks by giving an impression... a desire... a thot... thru circumstance... thru people...

Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.

God also speaks by bearing witness in our spirit... by the peace of God.... as we grow in our spiritual walk... our sensitivity must be sharper and more accurate... we musnt end up like Eli who grew dim... which means the older he gets the more insensitive he is toward God's voice... in every situation try to discern the voice of God... allow trust in His love and do not be afraid that you are always not close to God... He understands what you go thru and He loves you and doesnt condemn you... never feel condemn...esp when u feel far from God... bible says... He is with you and loves you... and you can learn to discern His voice and like a loving Father... He is patient and kind to you...
