Romans 6:6
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with HIm, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
When Jesus died on the cross, He took our body of sin and broke the power of sin over the believers life. Thats why I witness new born convert losing desire to smoke or even losing desire to their old lifestyle... this is due to the newcreation nature that came upon the believer...
Romans 6:17
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
Paul went on to say that when a person believes the gospel and get saved, the person is being delivered from the power of sin. The believer is no more a slave of sin... the believer has power over sin as Jesus has took the body of sin on the cross and crucify it.... the believer has now been delivered from being a slave of sin.... however a believer will still never be perfect, there will still be times the believer will sin against God and make mistakes... this is because we are died to sin but sin still is not dead in us and still tries to reign in our mortal body... this is where virtue comes in... virtus is not innocence but innocence tested... when we are able to resist temptations..
Paul admitted to his own personal struggles...
Romans 7:17-18
But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.
Romans 6:12
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey in its lusts.
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Perfect love casts out fear
1John 4:18-19
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.
Fear is not how God wants us to live life with.... God is a GOd of love and thats the reason how faith works thru love... when we make mistakes or sin against God... our conscience start to feel guilty and condemn.... God wants us to receive His mercy and forgiveness in that situation... once we confess and repent from our sins... God expects us to move on and receive His mercy and forgiveness... and remind ourselves that we are the righteousness of God....
Romans 5:8-9
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by HIs blood, we shall be justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
We have been saved from wrath thru Jesus sacrifice on the cross, we are saved from wrath of God. Yet this is not a liscense to sin... because sin always have consequence... we reap what we sow...we sow into the flesh we reap corruption, however GOd doesnt want us living guilty and condemn after we have confess and repent... we need to remind ourselves we are the righteousness of GOd in Christ because of what Jesus did.
2Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
You are the righteousness of GOd in Christ.
2Corinthians 5:19
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Your sins have been punished on the body of Jesus and there is therefore now no condemnation to you who are in Christ. However I repeat this is not a liscense to sin.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore no no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Romans 5:17
For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

do not fear man's opinion...
Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.
The fear of man is a fear of man's opinion... there are many people struggling with the fear of man... this result in people allowing themselves to be manipulated by another.... however God never wants us to fear man... God wants us to only fear Him and never be afraid of people's opinion towards us...the fear of man can destroy our calling and purpose and destiny... we must always remember to only fear GOd and love people... never fear people... be urself when you are with people...
John 12:42-43
Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess HIm, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Never fear men... always fear God... as you fear GOd and put HIm first... GOd is able to give you favor with men... this is better than being a men pleaser...

a christian perspective
Romans 5:1-2
Therefor, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
God is very clear that it is by faith that we come into grace and we should always rejoice in hope as our sins have been forgiven.... and when God comes back for us we would have glory... but we also glory in this earth before God comes back for us.... We must always remember that the finished and complete work of Christ is wat bought our salvation and we must rest in that truth... you and I have peace with God...PEACE with God... and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God... and into this grace we stand means we keep believing in faith and stand in liberty and freedom.
However there is 2nd part of christianity.... which is the trials that a believer has to go thru.... God is very clear that in trials... He wants us to stay in faith and keep believing until the end... this purpose is for Him to build patience in our hearts... He wants us to keep believing in faith in the trials... watever you are goin thru... always remember God is in control and knows your feelings... He does expect you to believe in faith and trust Him that He will deliver at the right time... meanwhile stand fast in the liberty and walk in obedience by following Holy Spirit...
Romans 5:3-5
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

freedom and liberty...
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
We must remember that when Jesus died on the cross for all our sins... we are forgiven and do not have to do anything to pay for our sins... the only thing we must do is to believe in Jesus... standing fast in the the liberty means to stay in faith and not to enter our works of the flesh... we need to accept what Jesus has done and His finish work as Pst Ulf mentioned and rest in that truth... as we trust in that truth we are able to flow with the Holy Spirt in peace and not anxiety.... where the Spirit of God is there is freedom... works of the flesh includes activities in the name of God that Holy Spirit doesnt sanction.... activities that bring yoke of bondage... we have to stand fast in the freedom that Christ died to give us...
Galatians 5:13
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Acts 15:28
For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Patience under trial..
1Peter 2:19-20
For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfuly. For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if y0u take it patiently, this is commendable before God.
There will always be times in our lives that we suffer even when we did all the rite thing.... Jesus had no sin yet was despised and went thru unfair situation... likewise in our lives... we are called to follow Him... there will be situation that you do all the good yet the wrong thing happen... in this time GOd calls you to be patient and in this time is where GOd is looking into your heart and is commending you... always speak a blessing to whomever has persecuted you or been unfair to you... God promises to deliver you out of the situation...at the right time...
1Peter 3:9
not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
God promise to you wld inherit a blessing as you stay patient, hopeful and kind....

forgiving yourself...
Romans 8:1
There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
In life there will be times we make mistakes... times we are careless... times that we do things we regret... however when we find ourselves in a situation of guilt and grieve of our carelessness or our failures or mistakes or even sin... we need to give it to God... if we have been careless... we need to say God... I made a mistake... I give it to you... i give you my grief and i trust you for restoration.... help me not commit the same carelessness... if we sin against GOd, we need to repent and go thru a period of godly sorrow if the sin is very serious and after that we need to receive God's mercy and forgive ourselves.... I know of a great man of God who got a divorce at an early age and was clearly going thru a time of confusion and sadness... He could not forgive himself as the stigma stick by him... he went thru depression for afew years until one day God told him that GOd has a plan B for that man and God wants to restore him... of course God's restoration and love is not a liscense to sin... but this man clearly was goin thru great depression and confusion... he thought his life was over... however this man decided to receive God's mercy and GOd began to do a restoration work in him and today his son took over his ministry and it became the largest church in america... He was John Osteen... friends... whatever mistakes you have made, if you have repent of it and give it to God... you need to receive God's mercy and restoration... God doesnt condemn you... HE loves you.... receive the mercy of God today...
forgive yourself... dun let the devil falsely accuse you for he is the accuser of the brethren... God doesnt condemn you... you are the righteousness of God in Christ...
2Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we miught become the righteousness of God in Him.
Ephesians 1:6
