offense of the cross

Galatians 5:11
And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.

Paul was persecuted by the legalistic leaders... they wanted to control the masses with their system and legalism... Paul preached the gospel that whoever believes in it do not have to comply with the legalistic rules and regulations... the legalistic leaders began persecuting Paul... Paul said if he joined the legalist to preach circumcision which is their tradition and their man made rules... he would be safe as no one would persecute him... but Paul preach a gospel that Jesus wants him to preach... a gospel of liberty... not liberty to sin... but liberty against man made rules and regulations.... legalism makes men look good and impressive... but really hypocritical... as it presents a false image... a false image of godliness but no power....

Galatians 6:12-13
And many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

Today lets follow the Holy Spirit and not allow man made rules to govern our lifes.... lets stick close to the Holy Spirit of God and follow Him.... lets be courageous to stand up for wats rite ... Juz like Paul... Always remember that persecution may come but at least we can be free to follow the Holy Spirit and not man made rules and tradition which holds no water.

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Galatians 3:9
So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
